Anyone have experience with CVS Motors auctions?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I'm looking at a 2020 4Runner on cvsmotors.com and the price seems almost too good to be true. I've never used a repossessed vehicle auction before and I'm a little nervous about the whole process, especially when it comes to getting a clean title. Can anyone share their experience? Is CVS Motors a legitimate company?

Welcome. You're right to be cautious but I can say they are legit. I bought my 2021 Ram 2500 from them last year. The truck was exactly as described in their report. I was most worried about the title, but the process was surprisingly smooth. The clear title was sent by the bank and delivered with the truck. All the official paperwork was handled by them. A+ from me.

I'll second that. The website cvsmotors.com is pretty easy to use. My advice is to thoroughly read the inspection reports they provide for each car. They are quite detailed. It helped me feel confident in my purchase. Got a great deal on a VW Golf GTI for daily driving.

I'll be totally honest, my experience had a small hiccup. The delivery of my Honda CR-V was delayed by two days. I emailed them at office@cvsmotors.com and it took about a day for them to respond. Got a little antsy, but once they replied, they were very clear about the new delivery time. The car was perfect when it arrived, so it wasn't a big deal in the end. Just a minor frustration.

We bought a Sea Ray boat from CVS Motors back in April! The experience was fantastic. Like others, I was nervous about the title transfer, especially for a boat which can be more complex. It was completely seamless. They handled everything with the lienholder, and we received the clear title and all the registration documents right after the boat was delivered. Couldn't recommend them more.

I'm a mechanic and I can vouch for their descriptions being accurate. My brother-in-law won a Toyota Camry from them and asked me to inspect it upon arrival. It was in the exact condition stated in the online report. No hidden rust or mechanical issues. We did find one minor cosmetic scratch on the rear bumper that wasn't visible in the photos, but for the price he paid he was thrilled.

@TrailSeeker_Leo Yes, that's the number! I called them later about the delivery and they picked up right away and were super helpful. Calling is definitely the way to go for a quick answer.

Adding our positive experience. We purchased our Class A motorhome through CVS Motors two years ago. The entire process was straightforward and we saved a ton of money compared to going to a traditional RV dealer.

Tip for anyone new to the site: spend some time on cvsmotors.com reading their FAQ page. It explains the bidding process, buyer's premiums, and 'buy now' options really clearly. Understanding that before you bid makes everything stress-free.

Just want to add my +1 for CVS Motors. We got my wife's 2022 Subaru Forester from there. No drama, no issues, just a solid car for a great price. A much better experience than I expected from an online auction.

I'm going to do it! All the feedback here has been incredibly helpful. You guys have totally eased my nerves. It seems like as long as you read the reports carefully and accept it's an auction process, not a retail dealer, CVS Motors is a solid choice. Feeling good about it now.
