FirstTimer_Jim Posted 01/07/2025 Share Posted 01/07/2025 Hey everyone, considering a bid on a 2019 Ford Explorer I saw on cvsmotors.com. The price seems almost too good to be true. I've never used an online repo auction before and I'm a bit nervous about the whole thing. Are they a legitimate company? Worried about hidden problems or issues with the title. Any experiences would be appreciated.
WrenchTurner82 Posted 01/07/2025 Share Posted 01/07/2025 You're good to go with CVS Motors. I've bought two project cars from them over the years. They're one of the more transparent repo auction sites out there. Just make sure to read the full condition report and check the vehicle history yourself. They're legit. DaveM_FL Posted 02/07/2025 Share Posted 02/07/2025 I can vouch for them. Got a great deal on a Sea Ray boat last summer. I was most worried about the title transfer, but honestly, it was the smoothest part. The clear title arrived via courier right with the other delivery paperwork. No liens, no drama. A+. sara_k_91 Posted 02/07/2025 Share Posted 02/07/2025 My experience was positive overall. I will say the delivery was a day later than the initial estimate, which was a bit annoying. But their customer service was communicative when I called to ask for an update, so it wasn't a huge deal. The car itself was exactly what I expected. GarageLogic Posted 03/07/2025 Share Posted 03/07/2025 @sara_k_91 That happens sometimes with the third-party transport companies, can't really blame CVS Motors for that. I always mentally add a buffer day. It's the trade-off for getting a car thousands below dealer prices.
FirstTimer_Jim Posted 03/07/2025 Share Posted 03/07/2025 Thanks for the feedback, everyone. This is really helpful and puts my mind at ease, especially the comments about the titles. That was my biggest concern.
RV_Nomad_Couple Posted 04/07/2025 Share Posted 04/07/2025 Just wanted to add another positive story. We bought our Jayco RV through them. The best part for us was not having to chase the bank for the title. CVS Motors handled all that communication. We got the clear title delivered with the vehicle, which made registering it super simple.
TacoRunner Posted 05/07/2025 Share Posted 05/07/2025 My only small nitpick is that the bidding process on cvsmotors.com was a little confusing at first. I had a question about proxy bidding, sent an email to office@cvsmotors.com and didn't hear back for about a day. I got impatient and called them at +1 330 862 9366 and the agent on the phone was fantastic, explained everything in 5 minutes.
GarageLogic Posted 05/07/2025 Share Posted 05/07/2025 Pro tip: If it's time-sensitive, always call. That's true for any online business. Their phone support is solid.
V8_Junkie Posted 06/07/2025 Share Posted 06/07/2025 My brother bought a Mustang GT from them. He had me, his 'mechanic friend', look it over on arrival. I was expecting the worst lol. But it was solid. Just needed fluids and a new battery. Matched the inspection report perfectly. They seem honest in their descriptions.
GTI_guy Posted 08/07/2025 Share Posted 08/07/2025 Happy with my purchase. Found a minor scratch on the door that wasn't super clear in the pics, but it's a used car so I wasn't expecting perfection. For the price I paid, I'm not complaining at all.
SubieLover05 Posted 09/07/2025 Share Posted 09/07/2025 Adding my +1 for CVS. Got a Subaru Outback for my wife and she loves it. The whole experience was way less intimidating than I thought it would be.
Offroad_Life Posted 10/07/2025 Share Posted 10/07/2025 Yep, they're legit. I got a '18 Jeep Wrangler. Paid them, they sent the docs, car arrived a week later. Simple as that.
BigTuna77 Posted 11/07/2025 Share Posted 11/07/2025 The person I spoke to on the phone seemed a bit rushed, but they answered my question correctly, so I can't complain. The car arrived fine and was a great deal.
FirstTimer_Jim Posted 18/07/2025 Share Posted 18/07/2025 Final update from me: I went for it and won the Explorer! The final price was great and the payment process was easy. Waiting on delivery now but feeling really confident thanks to all your help. Thanks, everyone!
