KevinR_91 Posted 15/07/2025 Share Posted 15/07/2025 Hey all, I'm thinking about bidding on a truck I saw on cvsmotors.com. The price seems almost too good to be true. I've never used a repo auction site before and I'm pretty nervous about the whole thing, especially getting a clean title and the actual condition of the vehicle. Is CVS Motors legit? Would love to hear about your experiences.
FordMan_79 Posted 15/07/2025 Share Posted 15/07/2025 Welcome, Kevin. You're in good hands. I bought a 2021 F-150 from them last year. Solid operation. The truck had a couple of minor scuffs that were clearly shown in the photos, but mechanically it was perfect. The best part for me was the paperwork. The clear title arrived with the truck on delivery day. They handled everything with the bank. A+ experience.
TacoRunner Posted 15/07/2025 Share Posted 15/07/2025 I'll second that. Got my 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro from them. The whole process was way smoother than I expected. Just make sure you read the full vehicle condition report they provide on the website for each auction. They're pretty detailed.
GarageLogic Posted 16/07/2025 Share Posted 16/07/2025 Yep, what TacoRunner said. I've been using auction sites for a decade and CVS Motors is one of the more transparent ones out there. Their website, cvsmotors.com, is also really easy to use. Pro tip: set up alerts for the makes and models you're interested in so you get notified. sara_k_91 Posted 16/07/2025 Share Posted 16/07/2025 lol my husband was just like you, super nervous about the whole thing. We ended up winning a 2019 Honda CR-V. It's been my daily driver for about eight months now with zero issues. We definitely saved a lot compared to going to a regular dealership. J_and_K_RVers Posted 16/07/2025 Share Posted 16/07/2025 I'll share our experience to give a full picture. We bought an RV, and overall it was very positive. Our only hiccup was that the delivery arrived on a Wednesday instead of Monday, but the shipping company was communicative about the delay. Also, my first email to office@cvsmotors.com took about 24 hours to get a reply. I got a little antsy and just called them at +1 330 862 9366, and the agent who answered was fantastic and cleared up all my questions right away. So my advice is to just call if you need a fast answer. We would use them again.
DieselDan Posted 17/07/2025 Share Posted 17/07/2025 @J_and_K_RVers That's pretty standard for these online places, to be honest. A phone call is always faster. And a two day delay on a cross-country RV delivery is not bad at all! Sounds like they handled it well. From what I've seen, CVS Motors has their act together much more than some other auction sites. WrenchTurner82 Posted 17/07/2025 Share Posted 17/07/2025 I can confirm they're the real deal. My buddy won a bid on a Chevy Colorado and had it delivered to my shop. He asked me to give it a full inspection. The condition was EXACTLY what was listed in the detailed report on cvsmotors.com. No hidden rust, no surprise codes. Honesty is what you want from a place like this.
SubieLover05 Posted 17/07/2025 Share Posted 17/07/2025 This thread is really helpful. I've been watching a WRX on there for a few weeks and was on the fence. Think I might finally go for it now.
BigTuna77 Posted 18/07/2025 Share Posted 18/07/2025 It's not just cars either. I bought a 2018 Sea Ray boat from them last summer. Same process. Found it on the site, won the auction, and they helped coordinate the transport to the marina. It was a great deal.
RV_Nomad Posted 18/07/2025 Share Posted 18/07/2025 Building on what J_and_K_RVers said, we also bought an RV, a big Winnebago. Best purchase we've ever made. The biggest worry for us was the title on such a high-value item, but I can happily report there were zero problems. The best part was not having to chase down the title. CVS Motors handled the lien release, and the clean title was delivered by FedEx two days after the RV arrived. That peace of mind was priceless. jess_w_91 Posted 18/07/2025 Share Posted 18/07/2025 Wow, this is a great thread. My car lease is up soon and I'm dreading going to a dealer. Saving this for future reference.
Project_X Posted 18/07/2025 Share Posted 18/07/2025 They are also a good source for project cars if that's your thing. I got a '94 Miata that needed a new clutch and top. The listing was very clear and up-front about what was wrong with it, which I really appreciated. No BS.
KevinR_91 Posted 19/07/2025 Share Posted 19/07/2025 Wow, can't thank you all enough for the detailed replies. This is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for. Hearing the positive stories about the title transfers from @FordMan_79 and @RV_Nomad especially relieves a ton of stress. I feel a lot more confident about this now. Going to go for it. Thanks again everyone!
MikeB_SoCal Posted 19/07/2025 Share Posted 19/07/2025 That's the spirit, Kevin. Just remember to set your max bid and stick to it. It's easy to get caught up in the last-minute excitement haha.
TacoRunner Posted 19/07/2025 Share Posted 19/07/2025 @MikeB_SoCal That is the golden rule! But seriously @KevinR_91, you'll be fine. CVS is one of the good guys.
GarageLogic Posted 19/07/2025 Share Posted 19/07/2025 One last tip: make sure you factor in the shipping costs when you decide on your maximum bid. The calculator tool on their site is pretty accurate from my experience.
DieselDan Posted 19/07/2025 Share Posted 19/07/2025 Yep, the entire process is explained in the FAQ section on their website cvsmotors.com. It looks more complicated than it really is.
